MakerLaunch provides University of Ottawa students and recent alumni entrepreneurs with the support necessary to fast track commercialization of technologies and launch new tech startups. Our program is designed to propel startups to success by surrounding them with the team, facilities and tools needed to launch and scale.

Our MakerLaunch program leverages the entrepreneurial ecosystem at uOttawa’s Faculty of Engineering, composed of:

  • our Maker identity
  • the success of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design
  • our community of uOttawa alumni tech leaders
  • the campus and regional entrepreneurial ecosystems
  • technologies developed in uOttawa Engineering.

We are looking for innovators and founders

MakerLaunch is for technology innovators and founders who are uOttawa engineering students or recent alumni. Their startup must have passed the ideation stage and created some sort of traction: show evidence of customer engagement and their acceptance of the product or service (participants must demonstrate that they have a paying customer or at least a soon to be paying customers through agreed trials, pre-orders, contracts, etc.).
